July 4th in New England (Boston - MA, Provincetown - MA, Newport - RI)

This year's independence day falls on a Sat and therefore Friday is a federal holiday. I went to New England states on this 3-day weekend. The first stop is Boston. Actually we started driving from New York at around 1.30 pm on Fri. We didnt get in to Boston until around 6pm. Once arrived, we checked in to our hotel, Sheraton. The last time I was in Boston was almost 3 years ago on the way to Maine. After check in, we walked to this seafood restaurant for dinner. Eveybory had the lobster meal since we were in Boston. It was good. I was actually sick and couldnt really taste the food that well because I had stuffy nose. After dinner, we went up to the Hancock building for drinks. You can see the night view of the city at the rooftop bar and it didnt cost anything to go in. The next day, we drove to Provincetown, MA. The drive was about 2.5 hr. This is my second time in P Town. Once we arrived, we walked around the town and did some shopping at Marc Jacobs.

It is said that because Marc Jacobs has a house in P-Town, his store in this town sells merchandise at a discounted price. After shopping, we walked to the beach. The water is too cold for swimming. After the beach, we went to the same restaurant that I went last year, Victors. Had oysters and shrimps for appetiser. They are as good as they get. Had dinner there as well. The portion of the food is small but it's delicious. After dinnner, we went to thr pier to see fireworks at around 9pm. Later, we went to a bar and stayed there until 12am. Then we drove 2 hours to Warwick, RI for out hotel since all the hotels in P-Town were sold out. Talk about recession.

On the third day, we went to Newport, RI. It was my first time there. Newport is famous for its mansions. We did a tour of that. The BREAKERS mansion is the grandest of all. It was built by Anderson Cooper's grandfather. We didnt go in for the tour as it costs $18. After that we headed home for NYC. The traffic was of course horrible. We didnt get back to the city around 10pm. We had Taiwanese food for dinner. It was good. It was such a rush trip but we got to see a lot of things. It was fun.
