Jones Beach State Park or Jones Beach is is located in southern Nassau County, in the hamlet of Wantagh, on Jones Beach Island, a barrier island linked to Long Island by the Meadowbrook Parkway and Wantagh Parkway across the Great South Bay in New York State.
The park is renowned for its excellent beaches, 10 mi (13.5 km) in length, facing the open Atlantic Ocean and furnishes one of the most popular summer recreational locations for the New York metropolitan area. It is the most popular and heavily visited beach on the East Coast, with an estimated six million visitors per year. After the third attempt, I finally got to go to Jones Beach on 23 Aug 2008. Ironically. I wasnt impressed at all at the beach. Nothing special about it. After the beach, I went to this awesome chinese buffet at Flushing. It wasnt cheap - $28. But I thought the food was good. Authentic peking duck, roasted piglet, abalone, and fresh water terrapin soup. Not to mention, my friend was paying for me since my birthday was a few days ago ;-)
