Trip to Provincetown, Massachusetts

After 6 weeks of living hell with classes on Mon, Tue, Wed, and Thu; summer classes finally ended. My friend Phil rented a beach house at Provincetown for July 4th weekend. He asked me to join him. So I went. I took a bus from DC to NY. Then they drove from NY to Cape Cod. I was a good 6 hr drive. As usual, I don’t have to drive ;-b

The drive at Cape Cod (towards Provincetown) was supposedly very scenic but it was too dark to see anything since we only started driving from NYC at 4 pm. Not to mention the traffic was horrible. Anyway, we arrived there around midnight. It was pretty chilly. There were already 5 ppl at the house. Some of them arrived a day earlier. My first impression of P-town was a quite and nice little beach town. Maybe it was a bit late when we arrived. I walked out the beach (it was only 1 block away) to take a look. It was a perfect night for star gazing. It was so clear that I could literally see the Milky Way. It kind of reminded of the time when I was with a good friend somewhere in Maryland on the way back from the Solomon Islands star gazing

The next day (July 3), we went to the beach. The beach is actually a part of the National Seashore Area. To get to the beach, we had to walk 30 min in shallow ponds. I never had been to a place like this. It was awesome. The beach was rather rocky than sandy. And the waves were pretty rough, but it was fun. Fortunately the water was not that cold. After the beach, went had dinner at this restaurant called Victor’s. my gosh, the oysters were so fresh and cheap. 1 for $1. We had shrimp, oyster, and wine. Later we went out to this seafood place for dinner. Food wasn’t that good and the wait was long. But we had a great time there talking and laughing even though I got some mosquito bites. I must have drunk too much that day. I had a bad headache after dinner. My friends went out to clubs but I stayed home that night.

The next day, another person (Chris) flew in to join us. It was funny because Phil and James went to the airport to pick him up at the same time. Anyway, we went kayaking around noon. It costs around 30 and was really fun. We kayaked almost 40 min to the end of the tip (Cape Cod) to see the long point lighthouse. It was definitely worth going. After kayaking, went to this T Dance party. It was cool. At night we had dinner at Victor’s again. The food was god and we all had a great time talking and laughing there. We got so caught up laughing, at one point everyone was staring at us. So embarrassing.. haha. I missed the fireworks. But I guess this is more fun than seeing the fireworks. After dinner, we went back to the house to take a rest. Phil was making fun of me and C hris for something stupid. But I guess it did later on turn out to be a good thing. Later we went out partying. I haven’t had so much fun in a long time. What can I say, Happy Independence Day J. Also, after sleeping in the couch for 2 days, I finally got to sleep on the bed.

We woke up to a lazy Saturday the next day. We didn’t do anything but ate all day long, Unfortunately Ray’s dog had a seizure. That kind of put all of us in a bad mood. But we managed to calm the situation down. We had oysters again at Victor’s. Later we drove out to Truro to buy lobsters for dinner. I shared a 5 lb lobster with Chris. That was pretty damn good. At night we went out party again.

The last day we went to the beach one more time. The water there was calm and warm since it’s within the bay. Had lunch and then left P-town around 3. Vincent and Ricky gave me a ride back to Phil’s apt. I took a bus back to DC on Mon morn. This trip was unexpectedly fun. I know I will go back to Cape Cod again since I did not get my passport stamp this time. Overall, I had a great time.
